Three years on a vehicle claims platform used by leasing and insurance companies: a
long-lived Java EE core, and the Spring Boot services and React front end built around
it. Most of the work is the unglamorous kind — new features in a codebase people depend
on daily, refactoring as I go.
I studied network administration before I wrote software for a living, and it still shows in what
I enjoy. I like knowing how the thing I built actually runs: the schema under it, the pipeline
that ships it, the machine it lands on.
Everything I build outside work runs on hardware in my own house, deployed by pipelines I wrote.
